Sunday, Oct. 27 – Hitchcock Nature Center

2 pm Start.  Meet at the Florence Library at 30th and Bondesson to carpool.  (Park entrance fee is $3 per car.)  There will be two options.  One is for a 2 mile, hilly walk in the Southeast area of the park in The Loess Hills.  It will include Fox Run Ridge with a turn-off at Angel’s Dead End, the latter being a challenging five hundred food descent which includes 33 steps.  As we proceed along the trails, we’ll enjoy the cool woodlands and view Iowa from several scenic overlooks.  Walking sticks and long pants are suggested.  (An easier option is available to the lookout from the end of Fox Run Ridge, with a return the same way for a total of 1.75 mile, if interested.)  Leader  –  Pamela M.  (402-218-5714)
