Sunday, February 1, 2026 – This short (1.1 mile) walk on a paved surface will be a great way to spend a cold afternoon with friends. Big Elk Lake Recreation Area (South of Cornhusker Rd and East of 108th Street) is a new addition to Papillion and a haven for birds and lakeside wildlife.
Directions: From Giles Rd turn South onto 114th St. Turn East at Cornhusker Rd and as you pass 108th St you will see the lake and the entrance.
If approaching from Hwy 370, turn North onto 114th St. Pass the intersection with Lincoln Rd (It has stoplights.) and proceed to Cornhusker Rd. Turn East and just past 108th St you will see the lake and park entrance.
