SUMMARY:Platte River State Park
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, May 3\, 2026     –     2 pm Start.    This 2 mile trail walk will take us to the waterfall.  We will continue on the trail along Stone Creek and later turn toward the Lincoln Journal Tower.  (Energetic walkers may climb the tower.)   We will follow the road back to the parking lot.  Walkers may turn back at any point for a shorter walk. \nUpon entering the park\, turn left.  In a short distance you will see the renovated waterfall trailhead parking lot where we will meet. \nNote:    Entrance Fee of $7.50 per car or 2026 State Park Sticker is required.

SUMMARY:Walnut Creek Recreation Area
DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, May 10\, 2026    –     2 pm Start.     This paved loop is 3.2 miles with some small grades\, but mostly flat.  Walkers are welcome to go part way and turn back if desired.  Geese\, ducks\, and other birds may be seen on the lake or along the water’s edge. \nMeet near the shelter on the EAST side of the lake\, just off 96th St. and South of Hwy 370.

DESCRIPTION:Sunday\, May 31\, 2026     –     2 pm Start.     This lovely walk in the woods will be about 2.5 miles.  We will hike to the northwest part of the woods to see the maidenhair fern.  It will be a hilly walk\, so a walking stick is suggested.  Bug spray may also be helpful. \nMeet in the parking lot near the end of Edith Marie Drive.
