Sunday, 10/7/18 – Fontenelle Forest – History Trail Loop
October 7, 2018 @ 2:00 pm - 4:00 pm CDT
2 pm walk starting from parking lot of Camp Wakonda. This 1.4 mile walk on the History Trail loop is scenic, but hilly. We will stop at locations of historic sites along the way, including the Logan Fontenelle memorial. Walking sticks are suggested. For those interested in additional mileage, the Prairie Trail and Mormon Hollow Trail may be added to the shorter walk, for a total of about 2.5 miles.
If driving South on Bellevue Blvd. N., pass Fontenelle Nature Center, continuing 1.5 miles. At intersection just south of Chap School, turn East onto Bellevue Blvd. S., and continue driving. Take second left onto Forest Dr. and follow to end of road, which will be the camp. If approaching from the South, turn off of Harvell Rd. to go north on Lincoln Rd. Proceed to Bellevue Blvd. S and turn East, following above to camp parking lot.
